Introduction

Welcome to the Bekkhu Real Estate blog. My name is Rebecca DiDio. I work as a real estate agent in Toronto, servicing the greater GTA. I have worked in the food service industry for 10 years as a cook which I loved and still love to this day. There was just something missing that left me feeling unsatisfied in my career. I knew I wanted to have my own business one day, but never thought I would be making that happen by working in the real estate industry.

I always loved looking through photos of condos, houses and mansions growing up. I would save photos of places I liked and keep them in a binder. Once I turned 19 I decided I wanted to buy my own place. To the shock of my family, I came home one day and told them I had signed an agreement to buy my first property – a new condominium! I was 20 years old and didn’t really know what I was getting myself into. I knew I had the down payment ready……. but no one told me about all the closing costs!  It was very stressful to say the least, but luckily, I had extra money saved! It was through this experience that I realized not only how important it is to have a good real estate agent working with you, but how much I loved the process of buying properties. I knew I wanted to help others in this exciting journey as well, so I decided to take courses to become a real estate salesperson.

I came into this industry wanting to learn more for my own information and benefit. I never thought it would be a right fit for me career wise, but once I was able to use the information I had learned to better myself, I realised how much I wanted to share the information I was learning with others. I could talk about real estate all day everyday. I love working with others and sharing my experience and knowledge in this industry with whomever I meet. Everyday in this business is a hustle with different situations popping up constantly, which keeps my days very interesting!  I pretty much spend every waking hour thinking about real estate (and food) in some way or another because I love it that much!

My roots as a cook can never leave me. I still love cooking and trying different restaurants, which is why when you meet me you may find the topic of cooking pop up more than once. I love learning new recipes and how other people make different dishes. I feel that food is one of the main components that make a house feel like home. Finding the perfect property is one thing but making it your home is what makes the process so special.

My goal when working with my clients, whether they are first-time home buyers, sellers or investors is to help guide and educate you while also helping to simplify the process. P.S         You may be wondering where the name Bekkhu came from. Its actually my nickname which I decided to use as my business name.
